Salus Social was born while group texting my sisters during a solo hike in the Hudson Valley. I wanted to create a platform where healthcare workers can connect and decompress outside the clinical setting. We work in a fast paced environment that can be quite emotionally charged, and learn to trust each other while managing difficult cases.
What if there was a way for us to team bond in a more casual setting? So, while texting and tripping over tree roots and rocks, I asked my brilliant sisters to help me with a name. We brainstormed and discovered Salus, the goddess of safety and well-being. It’s a work in progress, but I hope you’ll find an event of interest!
About Me
Hi! My name is Sandy and I’ve always dreamed of bringing people outdoors to enjoy the healing benefits of nature. I was born and raised in Brooklyn and my earliest encounter with green spaces was in a family friend’s backyard in Connecticut. Grass! Streams! Rocks! (Brooklyn stoops leave much to be desired when seeking greenery)
Some of my obsessions are hiking, alpine lakes, dogs, and Taylor Swift. And making newborn bow hats.
